A mixology playground founded by two World Class champions Samuel Kwok and Antonio Lai, The Opposites opened in the heart of Central Hong Kong in July 2024. Through their unique connection, strong bond, and the shared vision of pioneering a new era of cocktail crafting, the duo creates unity with opposites through a series of paired cocktail offerings. Antonio uses creative, theatrical mixology techniques and Samuel elegantly cultivates classics with adventurous ingredients.
An early revolutionary in Hong Kong’s cocktail scene, Antonio pioneered the city’s multi-sensory mixology concept – a drinking experience that engages all five senses. The mastermind behind brands like Quinary, Room 309, and Draft Land Hong Kong, he continues his legacy with The Opposites.
Best recognised as the former bar manager of Quinary, which ranked as one of The World’s 50 best bars in 2021 under his leadership, Samuel is known for his nostalgic and mischievous twists on iconic cocktails. His concoctions perfectly balance a cocktail’s heritage and DNA with modern inventiveness.
On Thursday, 14 November, experience cocktails like Scoop Me Up, served up quirkily as an ice cream cone. Made with N.I.P Dry Gin, this refreshing treat with flavours of pink guava, camellia, and lime is topped off perfectly with white tea foam.
